Alabama man accused of intentionally crashing his boat into another

PENSACOLA, Florida (WKRG) – An Orange Beach man was arrested in Pensacola after being accused of intentionally crashing his boat into another.
Kenneth Gordon, 52, is charged with reckless operation of a ship, failure to report an accident, aggravated bodily harm and criminal mischief.
The boat accident happened on August 14 between a moss green 2020 Nautic Star and a 2018 black Key West, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Both boats were registered in names of residents of Alabama, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Those aboard the boat that was hit said they were passing by when the wake of their boat rocked Gordon’s boat. People on Gordon’s boat got restless.
Gordon’s boat then caught up with him shortly after and collided with the boat, causing two passengers to be ejected from Gordon’s boat into the water. A witness said Gordon picked up the two people who were thrown from his boat and left the area. She said she believed the operator of the first boat, Gordon, was intoxicated. Gordon’s boat then left the scene.
The boat accident was reported to the expedition near Robertson Island. Witnesses near the scene have reported seeing Gordon screaming and they say Gordon intentionally crashed his boat into the other.
Gordon had four broken ribs and a collapsed lung. Other passengers on Gordon’s boat reported back pain and bruising. Passengers on the other boat reported back pain and knee injuries.
It will cost around $ 6,000 to repair the damage to the boat.
Gordon was taken to Escambia County Jail on Monday and released on Tuesday on $ 5,500 bail.
