Carnival cruise ship arrives in Mobile, Alabama
Carnival Sensation will arrive in Mobile, Alabama on Friday, as confirmed by Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson. The Fantasy-class ship is not yet resuming operations but will be there for crew vaccinations.
It comes as Carnival Cruise Line recently began vaccinating the crew of the Carnival Breeze and Carnival Vista when they made a much-anticipated return to the Port of Galveston in Texas over a week ago.
Carnival Sensation to arrive on mobile
For the first time since cruise operations were first suspended over a year ago, a Carnival cruise ship will return to the Alabama cruise terminal in Mobile. However, this will not be the ship that was originally planned.

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced Tuesday at a city council meeting that the Carnival feeling will arrive at the port on Friday. The plan is for 110 crew members to receive their first dose of vaccine. He follows two other ships that have started to vaccinate the crew at the port of Galveston.
In one local news report, Mayor Stimpson said at the meeting, “We are very excited about this. It’s a big problem, they come here to get vaccinated. I understand that three weeks later the ship will return to have the crew members vaccinated again. “
This is a major step forward for cruise operations out of the state of Alabama and it makes sense because Carnival feeling will be port-based once cruises resume. Sister ship Carnival Fantasy was originally scheduled to leave Mobile but unfortunately was scrapped in 2020. Carnival Cruise Line was planning to change places at that time. Carnival fascination from Puerto Rico to Mobile but then that it was sold.
Carnival feeling actually happens in Galveston, Texas, Tuesday afternoon and, depending on Cruise ship tracker, is currently in the Gulf of Mexico awaiting entry into port. From Galveston, she should then travel directly to Mobile for vaccinations.
Mayor Stimpson urged the public to come to the Gulf Quest Maritime Museum or Cooper Riverside Park around 9:00 a.m. Friday to welcome the arrival of the Carnival cruise ship.

Carnival Sensation is now the second oldest ship in the fleet and joined the fleet in 1993. She has 70,367 gross tons with a capacity of 2,052 people, double occupancy, with 920 international crew members.
