Clean up your life – WKRG News 5
MOBILE, Alabama (WKRG – You never know where your inspiration will come from and what lesson you might
learn from a seemingly ordinary experience. This week’s minute with Drexel started with cleaning the
fridge… and ended with a lesson on cleaning what’s inside of us!
Hey everybody! So, I was trying to decide what to talk to you about this week. There’s a lot of serious stuff going on
in the world right now. There are also a lot of frivolous things going on in the world right now. So when I
looking for inspiration and ways to clear my mind, I get to cleaning. Weird, I know, but that’s what I do!
I went to clean out my fridge and it gave me a thought. You know, no matter how clean I am,
every time i clean my fridge there is always something disgusting in it! Celery leaves have fallen
and dried out and got icky, or something spilled out and got sticky. But you know, clean it up
don’t bother me much. Nevertheless! Have you ever moved into a new place and opened the
refrigerator and someone left “their dirt” in it? Ewww! It seems so much worse than what’s piling up
in our own fridge!
it got me thinking! That’s kind of how things go in our lives. We have things in our own lives that we
walk by and think, ‘Oh, that’s not that bad, that’s not that dirty’, but when you see it in other people, you
throw a hiss fit sometimes and think ‘Ew, disgusting! I can’t believe that about this person!
It reminded me of Matthew chapter 7 where basically we are told that before we criticize
someone else, you have to clean up your own life. So I’ve decided that this week I’m going to look
things that need to be cleared in my life before I start throwing rocks and making decisions about this
other people do. I thought you might like to join me. And you might also like to read
Matthew chapter 7, the first 10 verses or so, to give you a little guide on how to carry out this action our
in your own life this week.
And it’s your minute with Drexel.
