We’re about two weeks away from the Super Bowl and with the lack of football on the field, fans are passing the time arguing over Tom Brady and Colin Kaepernick.

On Monday afternoon, a day after the Bucs clinched their Super Bowl spot, fans on Twitter prompted Kaepernick to make a trend on the social media app after someone wondered why people were neglecting them. Brady’s political views while crushing Kaep for his own.

Funny how people can separate Tom Brady’s politics from his game, but find it hard to do the same when it comes to Kaepernick.

Trendy and fair topic:

Some football fans point out that [Tom Brady’s] politics, that is, his friendship with Donald Trump, did not derail his career like Colin Kaepernick’s peaceful protest against police violence did, arguably leading to his exit from the NFL.

Some agreed with the fans’ perspective on the Kaepernick / Brady situation and added that no one is talking about the $ 900,000 Brady took out PPP loans for his company TB12 during the pandemic.

Tom Brady broke his phone because he was innocent in the Deflategate scandal, bought a million dollar boat after illegally receiving a $ 960,000 PPP loan, and had his TB12 business on Patriots payroll. Sports media never flinched, but Kaepernick and Vick enraged them pic.twitter.com/WwJS1J4jzu

In addition, Colin Kaepernick did not steal money from taxpayers with nearly a million PPE loans. https://t.co/rcvr4tVuoV

Others disagreed with Kaepernick / Brady’s take because they didn’t believe Kaepernick was a good QB at all. People have also argued that Kaepernick has made his political views public when Brady has not really spoken openly about his politics when speaking to the media.

Short story: Tom Brady is good at football, not Kaepernick. End of the story

This is a shitty take. Have you all forgotten how Kaepernick played before he was ostracized? If he won like Brady, he would be in the league…. just like the people who were still kneeling were part of the teams. https://t.co/bsmCxKSztc

Kaepernick is not on a team because he is bad at football, it has nothing to do with his politics.

Mike Vick ran a dog fighting ring on his property and went to jail, but Philadelphia didn’t care because he won football games.

If Colin Kaepernick could win, he would have a job.

Aside from the many reasons why this is a bad comparison, Kaepernick chooses to be a political activist. Brady Just got political opinions. https://t.co/rutfyE78XP

Oh my God, I’m sure there’s a rational and educated discussion going on here. A QB is literally the GOAT, and the NFL always overlooks things when the talent is big enough (Josh Gordon, in particular). The other is Colin Kaepernick. pic.twitter.com/86YI4WrU80

This is going to go on for two long weeks where people will argue about things like this until the Super Bowl begins, so it will probably be a good idea to stay away from social media during that time if you are. a football fan.
