Ed’s Seafood Shed is moving, will be replaced by a new restaurant
SPANISH FORT, Ala. (WALA) – Where there were once flames, now there is a glimmer of hope. Ed’s Seafood in Spanish Fort, Alabama caught fire last year and has stood empty on the roadway ever since. Owner Pete Blohme reopens Ed’s Seafood Shed, despite facing many obstacles.
“You know it’s been crazy with us because construction costs are going up and in restoration it’s very typical… the show has to go on. We have to move on and get things done,” he said. Blohme said.
Ed’s Seafood will move to the Beef O’ Brady’s location in Spanish Fort. Fire on the Causeway replaces the original Ed’s Seafood building. This place will offer you several delicacies and authentic cuisine. The name of this restaurant is a tribute to the incident that happened last year.
“Hence the name, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade. We call it Fire on the Causeway, so we’re looking forward to that,” Blohme said with a laugh.
Blohme is happy to invite customers to its new restaurants.
“Come see us,” added Blohme. “We appreciate all the support from Sunset and Panini Pete’s and Squid Ink…we keep moving forward.”
