Fight leads to stabbing at Poughkeepsie Galleria
It was a wild scene at the Poughkeepsie Galleria on Monday afternoon after police said a fight broke out and two people were stabbed. There aren’t too many details at this time on how the fight started or ended up escalating to this point. However, Mid Hudson News reports that the altercation broke out before 4 p.m. Monday at the Galleria. An investigation is underway.
MNH says one stabbing victim is a 36-year-old man, who suffered cuts and lacerations to the head, face and leg. The other is a 29-year-old who suffered a hand laceration. Police say a suspect was arrested at the scene, although they did not have a knife on them at the time. Officials said the two injured were taken to hospital.
In other news from across the state, a police snowmobile escape attempt not only landed a New York state man behind bars, but also his son. The thing is, the son didn’t even try to run away from the police that night. According to officials, the father and son share the same name. The Oneida Sheriff’s Office said they attempted to stop the 50-year-old man from riding a snowmobile on Tuesday night. The chase led off the main road, as the suspect drove the snowmobile through woods and countryside, and eventually into a housing estate. When police finally caught up with the snowmobile, they found the vehicle parked in the driveway of a local home. Must be their guy, right?
It turns out officials eventually found a 26-year-old man from Lee, NY, who they mistakenly identified as the driver of the escaped snowmobile. However, it appears Junior has an active warrant from another city, according to police. Syracuse.com said the two men went to the sheriff’s office on Thursday, The father received five tickets and was released. The son was taken to the Oneida County Jail for the other unspecified crime, according to police. Must run in the family?
