What the Gators said:
There seems to have been a pretty big turnaround in scoring. What kinds of adjustments were made to trigger the scoring frenzy?
âWe’ve been working on it all year, and it’s something we’ve been training for from the first practice session until now. I think it just takes a while for all to come together. It wasn’t like we waved a magic wand at half-time against Georgia and started scoring goals. The hard work of the players in and around the box, day in and day out, has now paid off in these two games. We have to keep doing it to move forward. “- Florida head coach Tony Amato
What about the Gators defense and the shutout?
âWe talked at halftime about making sure we’re really solid from back to front, denying crosses, blocking shots and getting runners back into the box. Georgia [Eaton-Collins] took a hit and had to get out of the game a bit and we just kept on going. Proud of everyone who went back there to keep it going until she can get back into the game. It was really a total team effort from our forwards at Alexa [Goldberg] and Fran [Faraci] who entered the game, to keep the shutout. – Florida Head Coach Tony Amato
Two assists and a goal today. What are your emotions after this match?
âThey’re reinforced for sure. Combination of a great team day, individual day and senior day. There’s just a flurry of emotions right now. We’re really excited for a big win. To move forward, he’s a big confident builder heading into South Carolina on Thursday. ” – Senior Loferski Kit
Thoughts on Loferski’s Kit performance today when she had a goal and two assists.
âIt was a great performance that we knew she was capable of. We’ve seen flashes of it throughout the year where she’s super dynamic and dangerous. She’s our top scorer and a threat that figures on the report. everyone’s scouting Everything came together for today I’m glad she stepped in and took the penalty on her senior day and found a way to put it to the bottom nets. ” – Florida Head Coach Tony Amato
What went through your mind when you sent the ball over to UF’s first goal?
“Madi [Alexander] was right there. She had a similar purpose at the back post [versus Missouri]. I think Madi has to stay there for the rest of the season as she has scored two goals in exactly the same place. We love her up there and she’s awesome. Winning goals doesn’t always have to be beautiful. “- senior Loferski Kit
