Jinene was the 6th of Gilbert Sanders’ 20 children. She learned to work at a very young age and has always remained very busy and productive in her life. She had to learn to sew, very early, to keep all her brothers and sisters in clothes. She made a lot of wedding dresses for her sisters, all her clothes for girls, and a lot for her granddaughters. She has spent most of her life working on the farm, either the one she grew up on or the one owned by her and her husband, Hugh. One of his greatest joys was seeing the children who rode his school bus after growing up. She spent every Christmas season as an employee of Rosenburg’s in Troy as a gift wrapper. Even better, Jinene was a Christian. She loved her Lord, and it didn’t take long for someone to witness it. As a life member of Goshen Baptist Church, she enjoyed working with youth in her youth, and adult women and UMM in her later years.
