James Loyd Obituary (2022) – Dallas, PA
James Randall “Randy” Loyd, a Gonzales, Louisiana native and Dallas resident, died Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. He was 68 years old.
Randy was born on December 13, 1953 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was a 1971 graduate of East Ascension High School, Gonzales, Louisiana, and received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Louisiana State University (LSU) in 1975. Randy had a long career in marketing retail before owning and operating the Dallas Photo Shop. He was an accomplished photographer and member of the Dallas Baptist Church.
Randy is survived by his wife of 38 years, the former Stacy Brown, Dallas; his brothers, Michael Loyd, Kansas City, Mo.; and Douglas Loyd, Spanish Fort, Ala.; his niece, Rachel Mitchell, Pace, Fla.; nephews, Duane Bordelon, Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Garrett Gascon, Jacksonville, Florida; Carson Gascon, Denham Springs, Louisiana; Jeffrey Loyd, Denham Springs, Louisiana; Andrew Loyd, Fort Mill, SC; and Triston Loyd, Spanish Fort, Ala.; and several great-nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his aunt, Betty Harris, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Randy was predeceased by his parents, Ralph (Red) Loyd and Sara Jones Loyd.
A memorial service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Dallas Baptist Church in Dallas. His very close friend, John Doerfler, will officiate. Visiting hours will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the church service.
