Joseph Shea Kelly

Savannah, Georgia

Thirty-year-old Joseph Shea Kelly died at his home in Savannah, Georgia on February 11, 2022.

Joseph was born on October 28, 1991 in Houston, Texas. He attended schools in Mobile, Alabama, Savannah, Georgia, and graduated from high school in Manvel, Texas.

Joe was one of the warmest and friendliest people on the planet. He was the friend of all who met him. He was a ready support to friends in need. Despite Joe’s own struggles, he always cared far more about others than he ever cared about himself.

Joe loved being the uncle of his nephews and nieces. He took great pleasure and joy in playing video games with his brother, Wynn, and many friends. Joe loved music and had truly eclectic taste, never having had the ability to narrow it down to just one genre. Joe had a kind of social bravery that very few people have. He managed to make any social situation feel comfortable regardless of the circumstances.

Joseph was predeceased by his father, Walter Jeffrey Kelly, his paternal grandparents, Walter Ben Kelly and Shirley Murray Kelly, and his maternal grandfather, Charles Creech. He is survived by his mother, Frances Kelly, sister Katy Ann Young (Tyson), brothers Ryan Benjamin Kelly (Eden), Charles Wynn Kelly (Mary), Clay McCown Kelly and Thomas Luke Kelly, maternal grandmother Dona Creech, two nieces, five nephews, as well as loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Joe was a very bright light in this world and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A service to honor his life will be held at Fox and Weeks at 4605 US-80 Savannah, GA 31410 on a Friday at 5 p.m. All are invited to attend his service. It will be followed by a family visit to his brother Benjamin’s home on Wilmington Island at 106 Chatsworth Rd Savannah, GA 31410.
