Last wave of deadly violence in Prichard | Mobile County Alabama News
Prichard, Alabama (WALA) – Police in Prichard are investigating a double homicide overnight after two men were found gunned down in a car on Azan Street.
Police have yet to identify the individuals, but many people living on Azan Street in Prichard have shared what they heard.
“I heard the gunshots, and I ducked too,” said a neighbor.
Other neighbors said the two victims were close friends but did not live in the neighborhood.
A woman said it was her mother who called 9-1-1.
“She heard about 20 gunshots,” the woman said. “She got out. Five minutes later, she came to his door and took a look. She saw a moving vehicle. She couldn’t make out who it was.”
His mother then called his brother, who was on his way home. She warned him that maybe someone had just been shot.
“He got here, and when he pulled over he noticed the car because he knew whose car it was,” she said. “He went to the car and saw them both lying there dead. They were full of bullet holes.”
The house across the street has a doorbell camera, and she says it’s investigators’ main hope.
“I hope the Prichard police find something out with this doorbell camera,” she said.
Another man living on Azan Street said his house was hit by a stray bullet last night. He was not injured, but he also called 9-1-1 when it happened.
Meanwhile, Prichard’s Major Crime Division is investigating with help from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office.
