LoDa Art Walk Celebrates National Pride Month | Mobile County Alabama News
MOBILE, Alabama (WALA) – LoDa Art Walk takes it “to the next level” Friday night to celebrate National Pride Month.
The Cathedral Square was adorned with rainbow flags with tons of vendors on hand. There was a positive energy downtown as more and more people stepped outside not only to show their pride, but also for more freedom to be outdoors amid the ongoing pandemic.
“It’s amazing to be able to be around people again. For a whole year not to be around people and now to be able to be around people and feel their energy and their vibe, it’s amazing,” said one woman. .
“It’s exciting… and going out without a mask is a little different because I’m used to wearing masks,” one girl said.
“It’s exciting. You know, I think we really broke the seal when we had Tardi Gras! And you know you had about 65,000 people here. People just wanna go out. It’s a beautiful night. , a lot of arts and crafts in the streets tonight … And I think of a lot of visitors from out of town. But anyway, it’s just exciting and a great vibe, “said Mayor Sandy Stimpson.
To top it off, a second line Pride parade from Cathedral Square through the streets of the city center.
