Mobile County Health Department Announces COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics for Week of July 19

MOBILE COUNTY, Alabama (WKRG) – The Mobile County Health Department COVID-19 response team has more opportunities to receive your vaccines next week. All MCHD COVID-19 events are in a first come, first served format. No appointment will be made.

• On Monday, July 19, MCHD will deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to the Oliver Delchamps building at Bishop State Community College (351 North Broad Street) from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. He will offer the Pfizer mRNA vaccine (which has been approved for ages 12 and up). ).

• On Tuesday, July 20, MCHD will deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to the community at the James T. Strickland Youth Center (2315 Costa Rica Street in Mobile) from 9 am to noon. This will offer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (for those 18 and over), the Pfizer vaccine (for those 12 and over) or the Moderna vaccine (for those 18 and over).

• On Tuesday, July 20, MCHD will deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to Bayou La Batre Community & Senior Center (12745 Padgett Switch Road in Irvington) from 9 a.m. to noon. This will offer both the Pfizer mRNA vaccine (which has been approved for ages 12 and over) and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (which has been approved for ages 18 and over).

• On Wednesday, July 21, MCHD will deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to Hank Aaron Stadium (755 Bolling Brothers Boulevard in Mobile) from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. He will offer the Pfizer mRNA vaccine (which has been approved for ages 12 and up).

• On Thursday, July 22, MCHD will deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to the Bay Bites Food Truck Festival (Cooper Riverside Park at 101 South Water Street in Mobile) from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will offer the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (for those 18 and over), the Pfizer vaccine (for those 12 and over) or the Moderna vaccine (for those 18 and over).

• Every Thursday, MCHD will deliver the Pfizer mRNA vaccine (which has been approved for ages 12 and up) to the occupational health center. This facility is located near the Mobile Aeroplex in Brookley (2050 Michigan Avenue in Mobile). The vaccination clinic will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• On Friday July 23, MCHD will deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to Dotch’s Barber Shop (2912-C Dauphin Island Parkway in Mobile) from 10 a.m. to noon. This will provide the Pfizer mRNA vaccine (which has been approved for ages 12 and up). The second doses will be for those who received their initial injections on June 26.

• On Saturday, July 24, MCHD will deliver the COVID-19 vaccine to the American Legion Post 250 (10950 Dauphin Island Parkway in Theodore) from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. He will offer the Pfizer mRNA vaccine (which has been approved for ages 12 and up). ). Free COVID-19 rapid tests will also be offered.

FURTHER INFORMATION

Those who come for their second booster dose should bring the CDC vaccination card that was presented to them after their first injection. If you no longer have the card, be prepared to wait for MCHD staff to retrieve your information from the state immunization system.

The public can now receive either the Johnson & Johnson vaccine (for ages 18 and over), the Pfizer vaccine (for ages 12 and over) or the Moderna vaccine (for ages 18 and over) Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3:30. pm at the Keeler Memorial Building (251 North Bayou Street in Mobile) and the Newburn Building (248 Cox Street in Mobile).

In addition to offering the vaccine, staff at Keeler and Newburn also offer rapid walk-in tests weekdays between 9 am and 3:30 pm Testing is free for all ages. Results are provided within 15 to 30 minutes while you wait. No appointment is necessary.

Individuals requesting a molecular test (Abbott ID Now) or PCR test (via LabCorp) for personal preference or for travel should be tested at the Family Health location. Appointments for these specific tests can be made by calling 251-690-8889.

For those who wish to make an appointment to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, MCHD now offers Moderna first and second dose vaccinations at several of its family health centers conveniently located in Mobile County. To schedule a time to receive the shot, please call 251-690-8889.
