Mobile Roundup: Bayside passes Cottage Hill; Leroy, Orange Beach, UMS win
Jay Loper ran for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns in just four carries as Bayside Academy beat Cottage Hill 35-7 on Friday night.
Sam Carpenter added 136 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries.
The Admirals (6-2, 3-2) led 35-0 at halftime behind Loper’s 35 and 51 yards, Zach Kittrell 56 yards, Carpenter 15 yards and Jacob Stewart 10 yards.
Cottage Hill (2-4, 0-4) got his only touchdown with 8:27 left in the fourth quarter as Kyle Hipp found Kaden Washam for a 17-yard touchdown. The match was timed in the second half. Bayside quarterbacks did not have a pass attempt.
Kittrell rushed twice for 63 yards and Stewart had 8 carries for 54 yards. Hipp scored 8 of 13 for 89 yards for the Warriors.
Both teams are on the road on Friday, while Bayside heads to Chickasaw and Cottage Hill heads to Excel.

Daphne 28, Mary G. Montgomery 14
Daphne rallied on three goals in the second half to claim a 28-14 victory over host Mary G. Montgomery in a 7A, Region 1 contest at ES Grider Memorial Field on Friday night.
“It started off badly, but our guys did a great teamwork, steered clear of the distractions and got the W,” said Daphne coach Kenny King. “I’m excited for the win. We continued to fight to be able to use it as a teaching tool.
The Trojans have improved to 4-2 overall, 4-2 in regional play and will host Murphy this Friday night, while the Vikings (0-7, 0-5) travel to Foley.

Cash Turner completed his four passes for 162 yards and two touchdowns for the Makos (5-2, 2-2 2A, Region 1).
Jackson Richtmyer had two receptions for 61 yards and 2 touchdowns and also completed a pass for 31 yards.
Chris Pearson had 44 yards and three touchdowns in three carries.

UMS-Wright 42, Satsuma 7
Cole Blaylock rushed for 101 yards and three touchdowns in just seven carries as UMS won on the road.
The Bulldogs have improved to 6-1 and remain unbeaten in 5A, Region 1 playing 4-0.
Barton Elliott completed 8 of 13 passes for 144 yards. Shane Roberson caught five passes for 114 yards.
Conner Neese, Barr Chavers and Bo Willis all had rushed touchdowns.
UMS will host BC Rain next week. Satsuma (1-6, 1-4) goes to Faith Academy.
