James A. ‘Jammer’ Meyer
Born: October 13, 1955
Passed away: November 2, 2021
James A. “Jammer” Meyer, 66, of Streator passed away on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Cremation rites will be granted. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The Solon-Telford Funeral Home will take care of the arrangements.
Born October 13, 1955, he was the son of David and Joséphine (Balachowski) Meyer. He married Rosalind Phillips on June 19, 1982 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Streator.
He is survived by his wife, Rosalind Meyer of Streator; one daughter, Jamie (Robert) Sharisky of Streator; one son, Joshua Meyer of Glen Elyn; granddaughters, Faith and Lena Sharisky of Streator; sisters, Grace Snell of Meadview, Arizona and Susan Meyer of Jacksonville, Florida; brothers, Carl (Deborah) Meyer of Lake Carroll, Michael Meyer of Wasilla, Alaska and Peter Meyer of Spanish Fort, Alabama; many nieces and nephews also survive.
Born and raised in LaSalle, he attended local elementary schools and graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School in the class of 1973.
He has worked over the years for A&H Engineering, Gus Newberg Engineering, Perini Engineering and was currently employed as a Senior QV Inspector for Exelon Generation Company LLC at the LaSalle Nuclear Power Plant.
Jim enjoyed fishing and hanging out with his pals at the Kangley Inn or Jr’s Bar in Grand Ridge. The apple of his eye was his family and especially his granddaughters. He would light up whenever he was near them.
