THIS WEEKEND: Today will be sunny and warm across Alabama. Afternoon highs will be a few degrees above normal for this time of year, peaking in the low to mid 80s. For those heading to Talladega for the races, it will exceed about 84.

A cold front will form in the west, but no worries about rain on Sunday. We will continue to stay dry with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low to mid 80s. Race fans will see a high around 82 at Talladega.

THE WORKING WEEK: The front moves into northwest Alabama Monday afternoon, bringing showers and a few rumbles of thunder. No severe weather is expected. Highs will range from the lower 80s in the northwest to the upper 80s in the southeast.

The front will complete its journey through Alabama by late Tuesday, but showers and thunderstorms can be expected for much of the day. Again, severe weather is not expected. Highs will range from the upper 60s in the northwest to the lower 80s in the southeast.

More seasonal weather can be expected on Wednesday, with sunny skies. Highs will be in the 70s. Ridges are starting to build up for the end of the work week, allowing a warm up to begin on Thursday. Skies will be sunny, with highs in the mid-70s to low-80s.

Humidity and temperatures will continue to rise on Friday, but we will remain dry with mostly sunny skies. Highs will be in the low to mid-80s. For those heading into the big race weekend at Barber Motorsports Park, the high will be around 84 on Friday.
