Stolen vehicle recovered, may be linked to series of robberies in Orange Beach
GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) – A stolen vehicle was found in Gulf Shores on Wednesday, July 13, and police believe it may be linked to a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred in Orange Beach.
Gulf Shores Police spotted the stolen vehicle driving down Fort Morgan Road. When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver led police on a chase that ended in Florida.
“Our patrol units located a vehicle matching the description of the suspect, one of our anonymous investigators was able to track it to Orange Beach and at that point they informed Orange Beach that the vehicle was possibly be linked to these burglaries,” said Sgt. Nick Corcoran of the Gulf Shores Police Department.
The driver fled, leaving four persons of interest in the vehicle. The passengers were questioned, but not charged.
Corcoran urges residents to lock their car doors and keep valuables out of sight.
“It’s imperative to lock your doors, bring valuables, jet wallets, especially guns, these are a prime target and all of these B and E’s are almost always looking for cash or firearms, get valuables easily and they get in and out in no time. a few minutes,” Corcoran said.
This is still under investigation, no arrests have been made, according to investigators.
