“Thursday and Friday before Father’s Day, we will gather, and the former students will have a banquet on Thursday evening,” he said. “It’s just a private banquet for Truth alumni to see and visit each other. Some who will perform are children of former members.
“My daughter is going to be one of the singers in the band, and she was born on the road,” Breland said. “She was on the road when she was one year old.”
Former band members will rotate and there will be a great horn section, one of the things Truth was known for.
It’s time to say “thank you”
Music isn’t the only reason to get together, though.
“The quality of the music that night is really, really phenomenal,” Breland said. “But it’s also an evening to honor my mother and my father. So we’ll take the time to say thank you and to remember Members of Truth who have passed away in the past 50 years.
