There were three changes to the No.1 teams in this week’s AL.com high school volleyball rankings.

Class 7A Thompson, Class 6A Spanish Fort and Class 4A Montgomery Academy all rose to number one.

The other # 1 teams are Class 5A Bayside Academy, Class 3A Montgomery Catholic, Class 2A GW Long, Class 1A Donoho, and AISA Edgewood Academy.

Class 7A Thompson earned their first No.1 ranking in school history after a 3-2 victory on Tuesday over former No.1 Spain Park, which deals with injury issues.

The Spanish Fort Class 6A’s impressive run for the Battle by the Bay title included wins over Hoover, fourth in class 7A, and Bayside Academy, first class in class 5A, in the title match. The Toros also picked up an earlier victory over Class 7A top Thompson.

Class 4A has multiple title contenders, but defending champion Montgomery Academy regained the No.1 position this week.
