The Glass Arts program at the University of Southern Alabama is excited to announce its second annual Glass Pumpkin Fundraiser.

Students and faculty across the United States have created over 500 handmade glass pumpkins in all shapes, colors and sizes to celebrate the fall season. The funds generated from the pumpkin sales will be used to modernize the equipment of the glass studio.

“It’s a great way for students to showcase their work in a real retail environment while also raising money to keep equipment online for future glass students,” said Assistant Professor Matthew Patterson.

Three pumpkin sales are planned:

Friday, October 1st and Friday, 22 october to Glass Arts Building on the US campus of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.. (399 University Boulevard, campus entrance # 7)

The third pumpkin sale will take place at the Island Fire Gallery from Friday October 29th to 30th. (10505 Dauphin Island Pkwy, Theodore, AL 36582)

The United States is the only university in Alabama to offer a four-year BFA in studio glass. The Glass Studio was founded in 2010 in a state-of-the-art facility for glassblowing, casting and kiln-formed glass.
